Course Established: 1955 Original Architect: Charles Akey Director of Golf Operations: Sterling Naron, GCSAA Superintendent: Randy Means, GCSAA Construction Company: Fleetwood Services (2014) - Practice Facilities Johnson Golf (2002) - Golf Course Renovation Formerly Carswell Air Force Base Golf Course, Hawks Creek was transformed into the nucleus for the redevelopment of a partial base closure on the west side of Fort Worth. CGD was contracted to study numerous routing options for the course, which would create additional development parcels, enhance existing development, address liability issues with adjacent streets and create a user friendly golf course which was unique in the market place. The course layout utilized many of the original corridors from the original routing, however some holes were redesigned to play in the opposite direction in order to eliminate most of the liability issues. In 2014 CGD completed the most recent project at the course which was the renovation of the driving range, short game area and putting green. |
