The original designers were the duo of Alister Mackenzie and Perry Maxwell. They created what many think is the best golf course in Oklahoma. As with many great old designs, technology had taken a toll on the grand layout and one of the primary goals of the Master Plan was to study tee and bunker locations, reinstating a fair amount of challenge for the better player while making the course more fun and attractive for the higher handicapper. In 2012 Oklahoma City Golf & CC made the decision to complete the 2nd phase of the Master Plan, a bunker renovation. CGD studied old photos and drawings from the 1930's to establish the Mackenzie/Maxwell bunker style of the day. |
